John and Irene chose Emerald Lake Lodge for a small, intimate gathering of family and friends.... and me! But the interesting story behind this wedding starts the night before when Irene managed to get her finger slammed in a cupboard door. The following day was one of serious pain and a fingernail turning lovely hues.... and their wedding. And then there was John who had only had the cast removed from the healing but broken and swollen wrist. It was very painful and had no strength. Then their mean, heartless photographer begged and pleaded with them to stick with our original plan (after the vows were spoken and the wedding finalized in front of their guests). I then threw them in a canoe and since Irene was the experienced canoe paddler and John had a wounded wing I thought it only fair to reverse roles and hence the shots below...... John relaxing with a parasol and a glass of champagne, Irene doing a great job paddling back and forth for photo ops!
And later over the amazing dinner the chefs at ELL are famous for, the love birds shared an ice pack on their swollen and painful finger/wrist...... a sign of true love .... and sharing pain killers! These two are the reason I love my "work". I wish them a wonderful and fascinating life together.
